Last week, I promised to clue you in on why too much sodium is such a heartbreaker. What’s the big deal about eating too much sodium, anyway? Do you really need to care about it?

The answer is yes!

Too much sodium can increase your risk for high blood pressure, stroke, and heart failure. But the list doesn’t stop there. It can also increase your risk for osteoporosis, stomach cancer, kidney disease, kidney stones, an enlarged heart muscle and headaches.

Too much sodium can also affect your appearance. Sodium can cause your body to retain water, which can lead to bloating, puffiness and weight gain. Certainly not the effects that I want to experience, especially during this season of shorts and swimsuits!
