Tell Big Vape to #QuitLying

It’s time to hold the vaping industry accountable for lying to kids about vaping and nicotine addiction. That’s why we launched #QuitLying, a campaign to call out the deception and reveal the truth behind Big Vape’s haze of misinformation.

Our goal?

Teach teens, parents, educators and communities about the dangers of vaping and empower them with the facts and tools to fight back.

From coast to coast, schools are turning sports halftimes, assemblies and other school activities into rallies for students’ health as part of #QuitLying. Events empowering teens to speak out against vaping have been happening throughout January as the campaign kicks off.

The QuitLying.org website provides facts to counter the lies, memes and messaging for social media, resources for educators and activists, tips for quitting vaping and more.

Why should you join the fight?

E-cigarettes have been falsely marketed to young people as a safe alternative to traditional cigarettes. But they can contain unusually high levels of nicotine — in fact, one e-cigarette pod can contain at least as much nicotine as an entire pack of cigarettes. Kids and teens who vape are particularly susceptible to nicotine addiction, which rewires the developing brain.

The AHA recently announced a $20 million research initiative to explore how nicotine impacts young people. Vaping’s effects on the heart, brain, lungs and blood vessels are not well understood, especially among children and adolescents.

The tobacco and vaping industry’s deception has to stop. Our kids deserve better.
